Overview: The High Commission of Sri Lanka required specialized waterproofing solutions due to the building’s exposure to variable weather conditions. We implemented a comprehensive waterproofing and joint repair process to enhance the building’s durability and resistance to moisture.

Observations:
1. Widespread Cracks: Numerous cracks were present, likely from temperature fluctuations and structural shifts.
2. Weak Joint Integrity: Control joints lacked sealing, allowing for potential water ingress.
3. Previous Treatment Failures: Past applications had deteriorated, creating uneven waterproofing layers.

Corrective Measures:
1. Comprehensive Flooding: Contained water on the roof surface to assess leak-prone areas under simulated rainfall.
2. Drilling and Grout Injection: Drilled into leaking segments and injected low-viscosity polyurethane to block primary leak paths, followed by secondary sealing from the roof surface.
3. PU Elastomeric Waterproofing: Applied a UV-resistant elastomeric PU layer on the roof and parapet ledges for full-surface protection.
4. Joint Sealing and Pond Testing: Sealed all control joints and conducted a final pond test to ensure waterproofing effectiveness.

Conclusion: With the implemented solutions, the High Commission of Sri Lanka now has a robust waterproofing system that enhances structural integrity, capable of withstanding the demanding environmental conditions.
